This year’s One Town One Title centers around the book, The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson. This novel spans several generations and follows a Dakhóta family’s struggle to preserve their way of life, and their sacrifices to protect what matters most. Weaving together the voices of four indelible women, The Seed Keeper is a beautifully told story of reawakening, of remembering our original relationship to the seeds and, through them, to our ancestors.

We are happy to have a variety of events that include learning about what the area now know as Pine Island was like before white settlers arrived, getting more information on seed saving, an interactive program about the US Dakota War, a poster exhibit from the MN Humanities Center, and a visit from author Diane Wilson.

We hope you can join us in reading and learning more about this award winning book! More information is on our website.

Copies of the book are available at the library, Pine Island City Hall & License Bureau while supplies last!
