Give to the Max Day

We are participating in Give to the Max Day for the first time this year. Please consider donating to the library as we look to the future and the possibilities it holds for us! Follow this link and click on “Donate” to give online. If you would prefer to write a check, please make it out to SELCO Foundation and write Van Horn Public Library in the memo line before dropping it off or mailing it in.

Thank you all for your continued support!

Annual Book and Yard Sale

The library will be CLOSED on Saturday, April 27 for our annual book and yard sale. The sale will be held from 9 am – 3 pm.

Come check out the wide variety of books, magazines, and AV materials – including fiction, non-fiction, children’s, young adult, DVDs, VHS tapes, music CDs, books on CD and cassette, and children’s book + cassette kits.

Items on our yard sale will primarily include computer accessories such as keyboards, mice, and monitors.

Members of our Board of Trustees will be volunteering at the sale, and all sales will go toward the library building expansion fund.

Come find some new treasures and help support the Library!

Funding Issue Affecting YOUR Library

The May 10th edition of the Post Bulletin featured the following article highlighting a funding issue affecting ALL libraries that receive funding from Goodhue County (click on the link below to read the full article):

Zumbrota Library Seeks New Contract with Goodhue County

Though Van Horn Public Library is not specifically mentioned in this article, we rely on funding from Goodhue County for approximately 15% of our annual operating budget. Therefore, we are also affected by these contract negotiations.

If you have question about this issue or would like to know how you can advocate for YOUR library, please contact library director Morgan Hansen at 356-8558 or mkhansen@selco.info

Annual Book and Yard Sale

Saturday, April 28 from 9 am to 3 pm

We’ll once again be having a book sale during the City Wide Garage Sale. Come check out the wide variety of books, magazines, CDs, audiobooks, VHSs and DVDs.

This year, we’ll also be having a yard sale. We’ve been doing some spring cleaning here at the library and want to get rid of some items we’re no longer using. We have file cabinets, bulletin boards, flower pots, magazine racks, and much MUCH MORE!

Come find some new treasures and help support the Library!
